Self Pay Patients

A self pay patient is defined as a “patient who has no alternate method of reimbursement such as insurance”.  However, a U.S.A. citizen may be able to qualify for Medicaid to assist with expenses.  If you are approved for Medicaid, please contact our office so we can review your options with you.

Please contact our office at 281-589-0156 to schedule an appointment with Dr. La.  Our staff can provide you with an estimate of your expected costs for this visit.  Your first appointment will consist of an office visit, ultrasound and appropriate lab work.  Payment for services received will be due at the first appointment.  Your next appointment, an OB Talk, will be scheduled.  After 20 weeks of pregnancy, patients are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

If you have had previous medical care, we will request a copy of the records so we do not have to repeat labs that you have already had done.  We will subtract the cost of any labs that you have previously had done and Dr. La is able to accept.

OB TALK

After an initial visit to confirm your pregnancy, you will be scheduled for an OB Talk with our nurse.  If possible, we encourage both parents to attend this visit.  You should expect the visit to last between 30 and 45 minutes.  During this visit, our nurse will be recording family medical history of both the mother and father.  She will also review the prenatal lab results and answer any questions that you might have.  Because this is such an important office visit, we ask that you do not bring any children to this visit.

After your discussion with the nurse, you will meet with one of our financial counselors to discuss the financial obligations of your care with Dr. La.  Payment, in full, is due by the 24th week of the pregnancy.

During your hospitalization, there will be other companies who will be involved in you and your baby’s care.  Their fees are separate from Dr. La’s fees and are your financial responsibility.  To learn more about these providers and their role in your care, please refer to Patient Forms/Ancillary Services
